He was born October 30, 1940 in Akron, Ohio to Kenneth and Clela (Southwood) Bailey and married Alice Hodge on May 10, 1959. David had been an employee of Carter Lumber Company for 52 years, retiring in 2007. He enjoyed building birdhouses, automotive repair and collecting fishing lures and guns.
