Dr. Umakant T. Purohit passed away on April 22, 2012 at home with his family by his side. He was born in Nairobi, Kenya on August 10, 1936 to Tribhuvandas and Kamla Purohit. He was the youngest of 5 siblings. He graduated from B.J. Medical College in Ahmedabad, India and he received his F.R.C.S from the Royal College of Surgeons in London, England.
